Bird in Hand, Saltford, Bristol
The Bird in Hand at Saltford is a traditional English country pub, warm and welcoming with happy smiley service. If you fancy slipping out for lunch when you’re staying at Bluehaven, you can’t go wrong here.
Prepare for a leisurely one – what they don’t do is fast food; think good food as fast as possible, all homemade using what’s sown, grown and raised in the local area as much as they can. Lunch or dinner could kick off with Prawn panache, Garlic mushrooms or Nachos, then move on to the likes of Hunter’s chicken, Steak & Guinness Pie or Salmon Supreme. If it’s just a light bite you’re after you can take your pick of rolls, jacket potatoes and Ploughmans, and if the little ones want their chicken nuggets or fishfingers, so it shall be. There’s even a dedicated family area where dogs are welcome.
Otherwise, dine in the bar or in the light-flooded conservatory, if the sun has got his hat on take your drinks out to the beer garden and sup in the sunshine. Holiday vibes all round.
